On this blog, I post everything from current events, health and medicine, science and technology as well as my thoughts and opinions to stuff which I just find plain interesting!
By the way — If it isn’t already obvious, I am Ziyad.. Ziyad Nazem, and it’s an absolute pleasure to finally meet you!
So, a little bit about me you ask? Well..
I am the face of miscegenation in the new world, and the journey is just beginning. Aside from being from a variety of backgrounds.. I am a twenty-something year old American Muslim aspiring to become a one-of-a-kind physician, I want to save the world — or at least die trying. Thus, I am currently a fourth year medical student (Physician-in-Training), and an active member with former leadership experience in the American Medical Student Association (AMSA).
I am a humanitarian at heart and have a strong love for humanitarian issues as well as international relations and politics. Aside from enjoying long walks on the beach, some of my hobbies include going on adventures, traveling, and experiencing other cultures. I have traveled and/or lived abroad in the U.K., Turkey, Singapore, Bangladesh, Burma, China, The Caribbean, and a few other places around the globe.
Apart from my global adventures, I am actively interested in writing (hence the creation of this blog), space (I attended NASA “Space Camp”), and science as well as everything anyone would ever consider ‘geeky’.
I have a penchant for cooking, trying new foods, and I absolutely love Sushi! Although as much as I love to eat, I get a kick out of exercising even though I know I don’t get enough. If you hand me a camera — I pretend to be a professional.. err, amateur photographer. It’s fair to say that I also appreciate and enjoy the arts, music, and a good book. And, last but not least.. I am lucky to have the most awesome wife in the world.
